Fireside Chat: Jo-Ann Tan, Lead Architect of +Acumen
7PM - 9PM
Singapore+Acumen is excited to bring you the first event in our 2017 line-up: Fireside Chat with Jo-Ann Tan, Lead Architect & Director of +Acumen. Through a series of experiments in 2012, Jo-Ann started +Acumen, a people-powered platform for social change that provides emerging leaders with the skills and moral imagination needed to change the way the world tackles poverty.
+Acumen has since become the world’s largest massive open online course (MOOC) provider in the social sector. Launched in 2013, +Acumen is designed to bring Acumen’s unique nonprofit venture fund model and 15 years of insights from building social enterprises in the world’s toughest markets to any individual looking to create social impact. Free and globally accessible to anyone with internet access, +Acumen today provides nearly 30 online courses on social change and has garnered more than 400,000 sign-ups from 170 countries.
As 1 of 16 +Acumen chapters globally (+Acumen’s 2016 Yearbook), we would not exist (nor would you receive this email) without Jo-Ann and her team!
Originally from Singapore, Jo-Ann started her career with the Monetary Authority of Singapore, worked in strategy consulting, and built a marketing analytics team and developed new marketing strategies for a $1 billion apparel distributor.
Join us for a fireside chat, an interactive and candid conversation where Jo-Ann will share about her personal social change journey, the story and vision of +Acumen, and the importance of building communities and networks of social change. This event is an opportunity to hear from a pioneer who is truly changing the way world tackles poverty and will be one that you don’t want to miss!
